The YMCA of the North Shore now offers Learning Pod opportunities for students grades K-6 along with our traditional after school programming. On a regular day staff will provide virtual classroom facilitation and support, lead transitions between activities, educational blocks, and creative arts blocks, and provide homework guidance. School-age program staff are responsible for the nurturing and development of each child, as well as implementing a developmentally appropriate, safe, and secure program, following all health and safety guidelines provided by state and local authorities. They demonstrate a vast knowledge of good teaching practices and support the secure check in and check out of children attending and departing the program. Our staff supervise the activities of a small group of children ensuring their safety and participation throughout the day, while communicating with supporting team members, as well as support parent communication upon dismissal.
