Public Health Nurse I

Ready to be on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19? Prepared to protect the public's health? Come work in Vermont's public health system where we excel in disease prevention and health promotion. We are seeking a Public Health Nurse to join the Vermont Department of Health's St. Johnsbury Local Health Office. Though the work of local public health is currently focused on COVID-19 response, the role of the Public Health Nurse is cross-disciplinary. Candidates can expect to be involved in multiple programmatic areas including school health, maternal and child health, the immunization program, and epidemiology. Public health nursing at the local level engages the community and gives nurses the opportunity to develop and maintain relationships with community partners and healthcare professionals, develop strategies to improve the population's health, and participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of public health initiatives. If you are passionate about public health, committed to community and interested in working as a member of an outstanding team of professionals, come join us. Prior public health nursing experience is desirable but not a requirement. St. Johnsbury and the Northeast Kingdom are home to a bounty of natural wonders for all seasons, a thriving arts and culture scene, and excellent primary, secondary and post-secondary schools. We support a positive work/life balance so you can explore all the area has to offer.
