Middle East and U.S Foreign Policy Coordinator Internship Position at MENA Pacs
ABOUT MENA PACS:
Mena PACS is an international collaboration management company offering PMO and digital platform tools to global aid agencies throughout the Middle East and North African (MENA). In addition to technical tools, AMENA PACs offer studies and country analysis assessments & risk mitigation tools to for-profit and nonprofit organizations. MENA PACs work in conflict and high-risk zones at the community level and with national and regional governments, focusing on connecting top-down and bottom-up initiatives.
The intern will have the opportunity to conduct research on current foreign policy topics, improve their research, writing, editing, and critical thinking skills. This internship will focus heavily on current and historical research for short- and long-term projects on Middle East politics and security, and the intern will assist in all research and logistical tasks. The intern will work closely with the research associate on all assignments and improve their ability to think critically in the Middle East.
The primary responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
° Assist with writing and editing content, including research memos and briefs, blog posts, book chapters, and other publications, as needed
° Conduct research as requested by the research associate and/or fellow on a variety of topics, including historical and contemporary research on issues related to Middle East politics and security
° Attend relevant meetings and take notes to be shared with the research associate
° Undergraduate or graduate student with a concentration in International Relations, Middle East Studies, Political Science, or a related major
° All applicants should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including A.P. classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
° Relevant research experience or internships preferred
° Strong computer skills with word and excel
° Professional proficiency in Arabic, Farsi, or Turkish desired but not required
° Excellent writing, editing, research, and analysis skills
· This is an unpaid internship.
· Externship, internship, and college credits & mentorships eligible
· Minimum commitment of three-months – up to one year
· French and Arabic languages are desired
· This is a remote/teleworking position (occasional travel might be required)
· A minimum of 25 hours - up to 40 hours/ week
· Multiple time zones working hours
· Starts immediately – acceptance on a rolling basis
