As a Patched Referee at the Plaistow Community YMCA, you will help assist in program operations and officiate competitive youth and adult games. It will be your responsibility to maintain fairness and hold standards during sporting events. Day to day you will teach and share knowledge of the sport, enforce fair play of games, and build relationships with program participants. You will be expected to ensure participants play safely and have fun during the sports game or activity.
To thrive in this position you must have an eye for detail and possess strong verbal communication, decision-making, and leadership skills. You should be able to easily resolve conflicts and have knowledge of a variety of game rules and penalties. As a referee you must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time, this may include standing, walking, and even running during sporting events.
