Laboratory Analyst

Our Laboratory Analysts do important work that provides high quality, defensible data for our clients. In this role you’ll generate analytical data supporting environmental compliance and decision making. Analyses are performed based on approved analytical methods using a variety of analytical techniques, equipment and instrumentation.
Analysts are challenged to continuously improve to progress their skills and career path. You’ll receive extensive training and coaching along with developmental opportunities. What Will You Be Doing?
  • Demonstrate commitment to STL’s Mission Statement, Core Values and Operating Principles
  • Actively work with team members and management to achieve STL’s goals
  • Query LIMS to create batches of samples for assigned analyses
  • Complete routine preparation and analysis in accordance with SOPs
  • Assess Quality Control and determine if results are valid for reporting
  • Enter data into LIMS in a timely manner and deliver data for peer review
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure optimal performance
  • Continuously improve processes to maximize quality, turnaround time and minimize costs
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of laboratory systems and testing protocols, instrumentation and technology.
 
Core Competencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially excel and word) and other windows software
  • Ability to work outside of scheduled hours as required to meet client needs.
  • Tenacious, analytical and able to demonstrate excitement and enthusiasm around exceeding goals and delivering great customer service.
  • Team player who demonstrates a high level of accountability as well as innovative thinking.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to and including 20 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending
  • Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness to make laboratory observations
  • Employee is subject to hazards, including potential exposure to chemicals
