Paid Internship: National Register of Historic Places Intern

Lake Champlain Maritime Museum seeks a motivated and committed intern to join our Research & Archaeology team this summer. From our campus on the shore of Lake Champlain, we connect people of all ages with the region’s history, ecology, and archaeology. We invite an intern to join us in that effort by developing a National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) multiple-property nomination for Lake Champlain steamboats, and sharing the Museum’s work with the public both on-site and online. This nomination will both help to preserve these unique sites in perpetuity and provide an opportunity to educate and inspire the public about Lake Champlain’s vibrant commercial history. Candidates who are studying or have recently completed an undergraduate or graduate program in history, archaeology, historic preservation, museum studies, or a related field are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have a commitment to public history and preservation, and enjoy educating others both in-person and virtually. If you have a SCUBA certification, even better – we can take you out to visit some of the sites your work will be preserving!

Applications are due by April 15, 2021. Review the full position and instructions on how to apply at https://www.lcmm.org/careers/nrhp-internship-2021/
