GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of a supervisory official in the Office of Vital Statistics and Registry (OVSR), this position will supervise the Customer Service Unit and has responsibility for planning and implementing procedures that facilitate the timely completion of record requests, and managing and maintaining the confidentiality of records related to adoptions that occur state wide. This includes directing personnel and work activities for the input and output functions for all vital records, both legacy and electronic, including modified records. The position will research existing and emerging laws and complex court orders pertinent to record requests of vital records to determine compliance with current state law, adjust policies and procedures accordingly, and will provide interpretation to team members and to the public. Will establish a network and collaborate with federal, state, county and municipal agencies to process record requests in accordance with statutory requirements and partner with Department legal staff to review and/or draft regulatory changes impacting operations of the Customer Service Unit. Ability to supervise over 15 staff members.
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in planning, monitoring, coordinating, implementing, modifying and/or evaluating agency programs and services.
NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience on a year-for-year basis.
NOTE: A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline appropriate to the position may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
