Rhode Island Attorney General Office- Expungement Program Internship
Description:
We are seeking candidates for a RIAG Internship to assist in the online expungement program. The intern will have numerous tasks, such as inputting and managing sensitive information on a complex on-working database, and coordinating and communicating with AG professional staff and applicants to the expungement program. The student will learn how to retrieve court records through the Case Management System and facilitate III requests (Interstate Identification Index). The potential intern will have the opportunity to learn about the process of expungement of criminal records for the state of Rhode Island, work in a professional environment with total exposure to public and community service, and participate in executing the RIAG’s expungement program, a policy centered in criminal justice reform.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist in processing and administering expungement applications
• Communicate and coordinate with expungement applicants and professional AG staff
• Manage and input sensitive criminal data into a massive working database
• Retrieve criminal court records through the RIAG Case Management System
• Analyze and identify criminal court records and III’s and transfer this information into appropriate files and databases
• Facilitate and organize III requests to support staff with expungement processing
Requirements/Qualifications:
• General to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google Suite programs
• Must be a responsible and independent fast learner who is team-oriented and willing to work with others
• General to advanced experience with data entry
• Basic customer service skills
