MECHANICAL ENGINEER

US Combat Capabilities Development Command, Armaments Center
Duties

  • Plan and coordinates the technical phases of broad program/project assignments related to armament life-cycle engineering and related technologies.
  • Interpret, organize, coordinate, and leads the execution of unique, complex assignments and the preparation of technical and business plans.
  • Plan and direct the activities of technical personnel engaged in related engineering/scientific activities.
  • Make decisions and commitments frequently representing large expenditures of manpower, time, funds, and materials.
 
WHO WE ARE . . . Benét Laboratories is a Department of the Army research, development, and engineering facility. It is the U.S. Army's design authority for large caliber armaments and safe life considerations. A part of the Weapons & Software Engineering Center (WSEC), Development Command Armament Center (DEVCOM AC), Benét is located at the historic Watervliet Arsenal, an Army-owned and operated manufacturing facility, in upstate New York. The co-location of Arsenal manufacturing and DEVCOM AC, Benét Labs offers military and civilian business entities a one-stop shop for research, design, prototype development, full manufacturing, and long-term customer service. Through its vertical integration capabilities and expertise, DEVCOM AC, Benét is recognized as a Center of Excellence for supporting the management and execution of life cycle research, development, engineering, design, producibility, and engineering standardization programs for large caliber armaments, mortars, and direct fire systems. A full complement of modern laboratory equipment, along with a highly trained staff of scientists, engineers, and technicians, enables DEVCOM AC, Benét to be a world leader in innovative technology and applications.
