Personal Property Technical Consult

Overview: 
We are seeking a part-time casual Technical Consultant who will focus on providing technical direction for personal property-related functions. This position resides in the in the Property Management Group, Logistical Services Division, F&O at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).  
 
As part of our research team, you will…
 
Major Duties/Responsibilities: 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and documentation regarding federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to personal property identification, tracking, reutilization, disposal and reporting
  • Review proposed contract and regulatory changes and assist with developing comments and estimates for compliance.
  • Provide technical support to monitor and gather data used to make recommendations to management and provide annual reports (DOE, GSA, etc.)
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Management, Business Administration or equivalent field with a minimum of 12 years experience. Equivalent experience and education may also be considered for this position.  
  • Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in a logistics-related or equivalent field
  • Working knowledge of Property-related policies and regulations within DOE and the federal government
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Personal Property Specialist, Administrator or Manager
  • Experience with SAP software
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory 
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs
 
Special Requirements:
Project Hire:
This is a temporary part-time casual assignment of 2 years with potential for extension.
 
Export control, no clearance:
This position requires access to technology that is subject to export control requirements. Successful candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license.
