Personal Property Technical Consult
Overview:
We are seeking a part-time casual Technical Consultant who will focus on providing technical direction for personal property-related functions. This position resides in the in the Property Management Group, Logistical Services Division, F&O at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and documentation regarding federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to personal property identification, tracking, reutilization, disposal and reporting
- Review proposed contract and regulatory changes and assist with developing comments and estimates for compliance.
- Provide technical support to monitor and gather data used to make recommendations to management and provide annual reports (DOE, GSA, etc.)
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Management, Business Administration or equivalent field with a minimum of 12 years experience. Equivalent experience and education may also be considered for this position.
- Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in a logistics-related or equivalent field
- Working knowledge of Property-related policies and regulations within DOE and the federal government
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Personal Property Specialist, Administrator or Manager
- Experience with SAP software
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs
Special Requirements:
Project Hire:
This is a temporary part-time casual assignment of 2 years with potential for extension.
Export control, no clearance:
This position requires access to technology that is subject to export control requirements. Successful candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license.
This position will remain open for a minimum of 5 days after which it will close when a qualified candidate is identified and/or hired.
