COLA Fellowship- Black Lives Matter Seacoast
Summer 2023 COLA Fellowship Program
The College of Liberal Arts (COLA) Global Racial and Social Inequality Lab (GRSIL) is hosting summer fellowship program for students enrolled in COLA majors. Rising COLA Juniors and Senior students with a passion for sustainable social justice and skills to promote positive change will be paired with a local organization to work for 6 weeks (dates may vary by host site). APPLY FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE 8 FELLOWSHIP HOST SITES.
DESCRIPTION
Modality: 15-20 hours a week. The work will be hybrid. If the individual needs a collaborative place to work, the organization does have an office in Dover to work out of.
Fellowship Host
Black Lives Matter Seacoast Overview: The organization’s mission is to dismantle anti-Blackness, fight against racial injustices and end police brutality within Strafford & Rockingham Counties of New Hampshire, Essex County of Massachusetts, and York County of Maine.
Fellowship Project Overview:
The organization is focused on racial & social justice & personal development and that needs to be reflected in the volunteer base helping them grow their skills & knowledge in areas to support the work. A training program will allow volunteers to engage with the organization and gain the tools and enhance their own skills sets to help their Black, Brown & Indigenous communities in their professional and personal life.
