COLA Fellowship- Food Justice Coordinator

Summer 2023 COLA Fellowship Program 
The College of Liberal Arts (COLA) Global Racial and Social Inequality Lab (GRSIL) is hosting summer fellowship program for students enrolled in COLA majors. Rising COLA Juniors and Senior students with a passion for sustainable social justice and skills to promote positive change will be paired with a local organization to work for 6 weeks (dates may vary by host site). APPLY FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE 8 FELLOWSHIP HOST SITES. 

DESCRIPTION
Modality: This fellowship will be 30 hours a week hybrid (some remote and some in person).
 
Fellowship Host: The Waysmeet Center and Cornucopia Food Pantry 
The Waysmeet Center creates positive change through direct service grounded in compassion, equity, and social justice in the NH Seacoast and surrounding communities. Waysmeet runs a food pantry on the lower level of our building that serves individuals and families from numerous communities in the Seacoast region. We also lead an open and inclusive intentional residential community for UNH students. We encourage student leadership and work with students to develop their leadership skills. 
 
Fellowship Project:
Intentional Residential Community Redesign: Plan and implement a revamped living experience at the Waysmeet Center. 
 
Deliverables: 
1.  The fellow will work with the Co-Executive Directors to plan summer programming and fall events for the intentional residential and wider community. 
2.  The fellow will systemize annual updates for intentional residential community rooms and implement those changes. Those updates to residential rooms will include painting, sanding, and furniture inventory.
3.  The fellow will work with the assistant coordinator to create social media content to engage with community members and donors.
