COLA Fellowship- NH Humanities
Summer 2023 COLA Fellowship Program
The College of Liberal Arts (COLA) Global Racial and Social Inequality Lab (GRSIL) is hosting summer fellowship program for students enrolled in COLA majors. Rising COLA Juniors and Senior students with a passion for sustainable social justice and skills to promote positive change will be paired with a local organization to work for 6 weeks (dates may vary by host site). DESCRIPTION
Modality
30 hours a week. This project can be completed in person, remotely, or hybrid. Some audience observation and interviews will be expected during the Fellowship.
Fellowship Host
New Hampshire Humanities strives to connect all people in New Hampshire with inspiring and challenging ideas of the human experience. We harness the power of the humanities by offering programs, grants, and opportunities to all people of New Hampshire, supporting lifelong learning, and fostering civic engagement and discourse.
Fellowship Project
Though NH Humanities seeks to make humanities programming available to all the people of New Hampshire, programs are not equally accessible to everyone. To support equal access to the humanities, we need to know more about what audiences are taking part in existing programs and what audiences are being neglected. This fellow works with NHH staff to create a better understanding of participants in existing programs and in the communities supported by our partnerships. Building on the 2022 GRSIL Fellow’s analysis of a diversity survey, the 2023 Fellow will add analysis of other programs and available census and other data about NH to create a more complete sense of the organization’s work. As needed, new data will be collected through interviews, observations, or additional surveys of NHH Programs.
