COLA Fellowship- Arts in Action

Summer 2023 COLA Fellowship Program 
The College of Liberal Arts (COLA) Global Racial and Social Inequality Lab (GRSIL) is hosting summer fellowship program for students enrolled in COLA majors. Rising COLA Juniors and Senior students with a passion for sustainable social justice and skills to promote positive change will be paired with a local organization to work for 6 weeks (dates may vary by host site). APPLY FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE 8 FELLOWSHIP HOST SITES.

Modality
Hybrid mostly remote with one event being public. Average of 15 hours per week

Host Overview
Racial Unity Team's mission is to advance relationships among people of different racial identities, increase understanding, and reduce racial bias in our communities. Our goal is to lay a foundation for developing new understanding by promoting anti-racism in community projects, dialogue that
builds awareness, and new connections that support equity and inclusion for all Granite
Staters.

Project Overview
Help promote Arts in Action to four new high schools in the state for the 2023-2024 school
year. Work with the project team to help:
  • Select the schools for this program using school safety, bullying, and harassment data.
Develop and execute a plan to recruit school participation.
  • Work with grant organizations to help fund the Arts in Action work in the schools.
  • Assist with responding to inquiries and provide information as needed.

Deliverables
1. A Power Point report to RŪT leadership about the project and results.
2. A written article for publication about the intern’s involvement and the impact it has had.
3. Attend weekly project meetings as needed.
