USDA Agricultural Research Service is currently recruiting for a Biological Science Laboratory Technician at https://www.ars.usda.gov/midwest-area/ in Peoria, IL.
Duties: Responsibilities include perform a full range of collect, prepare, evaluate, and verify samples and supporting records, assist in one or more phases of the research process by performing a variety of technical duties, in a laboratory environment, maintain records, locate, and compile data and other information from various sources, tabulate, statistically analyze, and summarize laboratory data using personal computers and software packages, perform routine and recurring techniques and studies using a variety of specialized equipment.
Experience: Based on grade level, one year of specialized experience which is directly related to the work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicants with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
OR
Education: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics. At least 6 semester hours of courses must have been directly related to the position to be filled. Directly related courses include microbiology, biology, or biochemistry.
