Principal Community and Environmental Justice Planner (TPS5)

Seattle, WA – Northwest Region 

$86,158 - $115,920 Annually

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has an exciting opportunity for a transportation planner who wants to have a major impact on improving mobility and equity in the Central Puget Sound region. Our downtown Seattle office is searching for a dedicated and passionate Principal Community and Environmental Justice Planner in our Management of Mobility team. This position supports WSDOT’s vision, mission, values, and goals through leading implementation of the Healthy Environment for All (HEAL) Act in WSDOT’s Northwest Region (King, Snohomish, Skagit, Island, and Whatcom counties).

 

The Principal Community and Environmental Justice Planner will develop and lead an innovative community engagement program, support multidisciplinary teams, build collaborative internal processes, manage complex timelines with many inputs and participating organizations, and represent WSDOT externally with local agencies, tribes, Metropolitan Planning Organizations/Regional Transportation Planning Organizations (MPOs/RTPOs), community-based organizations, and other interested parties.
