Mutual Aid Fellow - Black Lives Matter New Hampshire
Summer 2024 COLA Fellowship Program
The College of Liberal Arts (COLA) Global Racial and Social Inequality Lab (GRSIL) is hosting summer fellowship program for students enrolled in COLA majors. Rising COLA Juniors and Senior students with a passion for sustainable social justice and skills to promote positive change will be paired with a local organization to work for 6 weeks (dates may vary by host site). DESCRIPTION
Modality:
15-20 hours a week. The work will be hybrid. If the individual needs a collaborative place to work, the organization does have an office in Dover to work out of.
Fellowship Host:
Black Lives Matter New Hampshire's mission is to dismantle anti-Blackness, eradicate systemic racism, champion racial equality, combat racial injustices, put an end to police brutality, and advocate for justice for all Black lives in New Hampshire. We are guided by principles of inclusivity, solidarity, and collective action.
Fellowship Project Overview:
The organization will expand its yearly mutual aid school drive for K-12 that was primarily focused in the Seacoast area. BLM New Hampshire is now a statewide organization and is working to revamp the school drive to reach the entire state of New Hampshire.
Deliverables:
- Collaborating with BLM leadership to complete the initiative.
- Understanding what a mutual aid initiative is and how to successfully launch and execute it.
