POSITION TITLE: Intern, New Markets
ORGANIZATION SUMMARY: Galehead is the leading upstream technology and services platform for planning, management, and delivery of greenfield development pipeline for the Energy Transition. Galehead is a trusted project development partner to global utilities, Independent Power Producers, and Fortune 500 companies. Since its founding in 2016, Galehead has deployed its proprietary LandCommand® technology and specialized upstream platform to develop more than 15 GW of solar, storage, and wind projects under active development by Galehead and its Downstream Partners including Tyr Energy Development, EDF, Clearway, Rev Renewables, Steelhead, Engie, and Longroad.
ROLE SUMMARY: The Boston based organization is looking for an undergraduate or graduate intern with focused studies in STEM, business, or economics and experience with data center project development or siting for the New Markets Team. Preference for applicants with data center project development experience or familiarity. Preference for applicants familiar with PPA structures, tax equity project financing, renewable project development, telecommunications project development, or navigating transmission service providers.
Hours: ~30-40 hrs/wk

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the team on go-to-market strategies for developing data center projects, with the potential to develop adjacent renewable power plants, microgrids, thermal plants, and storage.
- Develop market research and technology summaries to build scaffolding for go-to-market strategies.
- Support research and development tax credit studies.
- Lead a special project culminating in a report for the New Markets Team.
- Assist with modeling financial and technological risks for potential investments.
- Support building, forecasting and managing project development budgets.
- Assist in the land permitting process with local, county, state guidelines in addition to utility interconnection process research.
- Support development and LandCommand® incorporation of siting criteria for multiple infrastructure technologies.
- Secure, process, and streamline landowner information on inbound leads, which can include GIS analysis and use of Google Earth.
- Provide ad-hoc support to other teams throughout Galehead, including Project Development, Business Development, Commercial M&A, Sales Operations, and Account Management.
- Ad-hoc duties can include proposal writing, editing, outbound land owner interactions, landowner contact information gathering, database work, documenting Salesforce CRM, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information consistent with the nature of the topic and/or the data involved.
