What You’ll Learn
As a merchandising Intern at Naadam, you'll learn the core fundamentals of merchandising, planning and product. You will get hands-on experience of the day-to-day process and operations of each function, shadow key leaders and have exposure to members of all levels within the company. You will get a comprehensive understanding of the product life cycle, from development to buy to launch, while partnering with planning, marketing, design and ecomm teams. At the end of the program, you will finalize the experience with a final presentation to our product leads.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze weekly and quarterly sales at product and company wide level, reporting out on key business metrics
- Partner with cross functional team to learn about in-season and pre-season product and financial strategies
- Collaborate with the design and product team, communicating your research on trend, price and competitive analysis to drive seasonal assortment decisions
- Support merchandising with ad-hoc projects
- Spend allocated time with each department to understand how a startup DTC company operates
- Learn about profitability initiatives and how merchandising and planning functions into P&L responsibilities
About You
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program
- Enthusiasm for a dynamic start up environment, agility to learn new things
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive Programs and related software
- Well organized, detail oriented, strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as, part of a team
- Familiarity and strong interest of upcoming fashion trends and retail industry
- Eager to learn and positive mindset
Duration and Compensation:
- This is an unpaid internship position designed for college credit.
- Start Date: May 28th
- End Date: August 2nd
- Minimum of 3 - 4 days a week
- Your internship must be served during normal working hours between 9:00AM - 6:00PM as it aligns with your academic schedule.
