The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Central Office is seeking to hire a Business Coordinator in our Administrative Services Division (ASD). This position is located in Richmond, Virginia.
The primary function of this position is to serve as the Central Office Program Administrator of the Small Purchase Charge Card Program (SPCC). This will include ensuring the successful operation of SPCC program through card management, compliance with policies and procedures (including audits), card inventory, training, spend analysis, administration of systems and program reporting. This position works with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external customers.
The selected candidate’s duties include a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Issuing Purchase Orders.
- Providing support/backup for obtaining vendor quotes and orders.
- Hosting public Bid Openings with vendors.
- Preparing and coordinating vendor file reviews.
- Ensuring timely payroll submittal for the Administrative Services Division and research.
- Compiling data and prepare financial reports.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with Word, Excel, Access.
- Experience using financial management and budgeting computer programs.
- Knowledge of budget development and monitoring.
- Knowledge of GAAP, accounting policies, practices, and procedures.
Additional Considerations
- Administrative experience coordinating a variety of business functions for a designated program area.
- Experience with state budgeting practices and procedures.
- Experience using the Cardinal system.
- A combination of training, experience, or education in Business, Accounting or related field desired.
