Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to be based in New York, NY.
This position is expected to begin in May or June 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal resiliency, and development schemes.
- Undertaking design and planning activities on vertical building structural projects – aviation facilities, transit stations, freight rail facilities, and ancillary buildings related to roadway projects.
- Preparing structural design utilizing hand calculations, Excel workbooks, and advanced structural analysis software to determine applied loading, demand requirements, and appropriate foundation and member specifications.
- Preparing structural technical sketches, drawings, specifications and reports under the supervision of senior staff.
- Exercising judgment in developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Coordinating with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
- Performing condition assessments and site visits as needed. Occasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Master of Science (with Structural Engineering concentration).
- Experience with computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, STAAD.Pro, and SAFE.
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in New York, NY . The selected candidate must be available to work in New York, NY on a scheduled basis.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $84,000.00.
