Computer Network Technician II CLOSES 01/20/25
The responsibilities of the Computer Network Technician Level 2 include all the duties of a Level 1 Network Technician such as the maintenance of the desktop computers, printers, cabling, software, and servers on the local and wide area networks located at the Tribal Center campus in addition to the Campus video Surveillance system. The position reports directly to the IT Director and works in coordination with current IT Staff. This position may be required to work outside normal business hour to facilitate upgrade or installs.
Duties Include:
- General Computer Network
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, printers, Leand network connections.
- Install and maintain the cabling, server computers, and software associated with the local and wide area networks.
- Provide various kinds of user training.
- Order computers, peripheral equipment, and related parts.
- Provide support for the use of the telephone and voice mail systems.
- Evaluate network performance and investigate ways to improve it.
- Perform upgrades and maintenance of computers, printers, and network infrastructure.
- Level II Duties
- Work/train with Health IT staff to support the clinic’s NextGen EMR & EHR software.
- Work with Tribal staff to locate and install security cameras around the campus.
- Work to upgrade, maintain and monitor the campus video security system (cameras, infrastructure and recording devices)
- Work with contractors to install additional network runs (fiber/copper/cat6) for security cameras.
- Assist Broadband manger to maintain/upgrade/install service to Tribal household on the reservation.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: AA with 3 years’ experience preferred with HS degree with 4 years’ experience required

Experience: Minimum 2 or more years of experience which includes.
- Supporting desktop/laptop computers (Windows, Linux and MacOS) in an organizational environment.

Personal Computer Skills:
- Demonstrated advanced ability in computer skills (both Windows, Linux, and Apple environments).
- Advance knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies.

Licensing/Certification:
- Valid Washington driver’s license and insurable driving record are required within 30 days of hire.
- CompTIA, Network + or equivalent Certification.
- Other Important Skills:
- Can proficiently handle stress and have excellent skills in interpersonal communication.
- Ready to participate in training related to computer skills.
- Capable of troubleshooting or finding a resolution to any potential challenges encountered during work.
Travel Requirements:
- Local, statewide, and out of state travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to finger, handle, reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to walk, sit, stand.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Normal audio and visual acuity
- Regularly work at heights on ladders or roof.
- Regularly work in tight and confined spaces.
