This position provides responsible professional services to young adults at the Central Library. Work is performed under the limited supervision of Young Adult Manager or Branch Manager.
The preferred starting salary for this position is $20.03 Hourly and $41,662.40 Annually. - The City of Charlottesville manages its own retirement system and does not participate in VRS; however, the City has a Portability Agreement with VRS and there are certain provisions that must be met. Education and Experience: Candidates may qualify by demonstrating the required knowledge and skills outlined for the job through experience(s) other than formal education.
- Eligibility for professional certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia within the first 2 years of employment; AND a knowledge of young adult literature and general reference sources.
OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the specific requirements listed above.
Preferred:
- Experience working with young adults.
- Familiarity with STEM programming.
