Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics, in various settings such as acute care and the PICU. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory disorders, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective therapy and education.

Duties

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and medications as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen delivery systems.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory health, medication administration, and home care techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans for patients.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with medical standards.
• Participate in emergency response situations, utilizing basic life support skills as necessary.
• Stay current with medical terminology and advancements in respiratory therapy practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in administering respiratory therapy techniques for various patient populations, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration related to respiratory care.
• Ability to perform acute care procedures effectively within an operating room (OR) environment.
• Experience with ventilator management and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with PICU protocols and pediatric respiratory needs.
• Excellent communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to respiratory conditions.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.

Job Type: Part-time

Shift:

• 12 hour shift/rotating weekends

Supplemental Pay:

• Differential pay
