Bendel Youth Empowerment Program is a community organization based in the Bronx, dedicated to providing rehabilitative services under New York State's Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS). Through our various programs and initiatives we aim to empower and uplift the youth, helping them reach their full potential and become active members of society. We focus on empowering children and youth experiencing psychiatric, emotional, social developmental, or substance use challenges, helping them maximize their potential and live fuller lives.

Position Summary
As a PSR Specialist, you will work one-on-one with clients to help them develop essential life skills, build self-confidence, and reach their personal goals in areas like communication, emotional regulation, and independent living. In this role, you will work directly with children and youth to develop essential life skills, enhance coping mechanisms, and promote community integration.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement hands-on skill-building activities based on individualized treatment plans.
- Assist clients in developing daily living skills, such as health management, personal hygiene/grooming, self-care, and dressing.
- Facilitate the development of social and interpersonal skills, including communication, anger management, and peer interactions.
- Support clients in achieving community integration goals, such as obtaining a driver's license, managing finances, and accessing community resources.
- Document client progress via TherapyNotes, our electronic health records site, and collaborate with the care team to adjust interventions as needed.
- Encourage independence and promote client engagement in daily activities.

- Current enrollment in a college program.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and reliable.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and required training.
