I loved the hands on experience and working closely with scientists

What I wish was different

I wish that when I moved, I would have been able to ‘transfer’ offices. That didn’t exist for the parks office near the school I’m attending now.

Advice

Apply like crazy! Apply, apply, apply! No matter the odds, of you meet the minimum requirements and have multiple of the desired qualifications you have a shot! I applied to state agencies for a long time before landing this one. Don’t get discouraged.
